Queen Anne’s Chorale Holiday Concert -Christmas in the New World
Queen Anne’s Chorale Holiday Concert
–Christmas in the New World
The Holiday season is upon us and there is no better way to kick it off than with wonderful music. Queen Anne’s Chorale will be performing Christmas in the New World on December 7th in the Todd Performing Arts Center at Chesapeake College Wye Mills. Selections range from Colonial times to post-Civil War and will be accompanied by chamber orchestra. “You will recognize old standards” states Robert Huntington, Artistic Director “but the repertoire also includes music from the Moravian tradition and spirituals, along with our traditional audience sing-along”
As the first of two major concerts (there is a Spring Concert as well), the Holiday Concert sets the tone for those looking to get in the Holiday Spirit. Singers from throughout the region start practicing in early September to ensure the music will raise your spirits. A Select Ensemble and soloists will provide extra music along with the chamber orchestra. Also, a punch and cookie reception follows the performances.
Tickets are $20 for adults with children through High School admitted free. You can also purchase season tickets for $30. For more information, go to www.qachorale.org. You can also call 443-262-8146.
Queen Anne’s Chorale is supported in part through grants from the United Way of Queen Anne’s County, the Queen Anne’s County Centre for the Arts, and the Maryland State Arts Council, an agency dedicated to cultivating a vibrant cultural community where the arts thrive.
